A New Benefit to Co-op Ownership

Are you a card holding Bay City Cooperative Market owner ? Now you can put that card to use before our store opens!

GreenTree Cooperative Grocery in Mt. Pleasant — the closest co-op grocery to Bay City — is now accepting Bay City Cooperative Market ownership cards for its monthly Owner Appreciation Day discount. On the first Saturday of every month — the next one is May 5 — you can show your card and get 10% off on your purchases. Plus, they offer free samples!

Like a typical co-op, GreenTree has a grocery department with canned goods, packaged meals, cereals, beverages, flours and condiments, as well as refrigerated and frozen items, including local eggs, milk and meat. Its deli has hot breakfast items, soups, dinners, sandwiches, salads, dips, spreads and baked goods. The wellness department has supplements, health and beauty aids and household cleaners. All of the produce at GreenTree is certified USDA organic or comes from responsibly run local farms.

GreenTree’s invitation to Bay City Cooperative Market owners is in keeping with “P6” — number 6 of the 7 principles that guide co-ops around the world — which says that co-ops work together to strengthen the cooperative movement.

GreenTree is located at 214 N. Franklin St. in Mt. Pleasant. It’s open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. 7 days a week. The phone number there is 989-772-3221. Anyone want to carpool?
